How to Celebrate 4th of July This Year
As lockdowns lift and the world starts getting back to normal, locals are able to start celebrating again! After a Fourth of July in 2020 that was mostly sidelined by the pandemic, one of the biggest summer parties will largely be back on this year, even if it looks a little different. There are loads of ways to get patriotically festive near your Crane Chinatown apartment—from unwinding at Penn’s Landing to taking in the historic parade in Old City and everything in between.
Wawa Welcome America returns this summer with dozens of events throughout the city—free museum days, arts festivals, block parties and much more. One of the cornerstones of the series is the massive, free July 4th concert that comes before the famous fireworks show. Traditionally held on the Parkway, the concert is being shifted to the Mann Center this year, less than 15 minutes from your Crane Chinatown apartment, to cut down on crowd sizes in light of the pandemic.
This year’s concert features headliner Bebe Rexha who will take the stage with special guest Flo Rida. For a taste of Philly, concert-goers will also be treated to a performance by the Philly POPS. There are general admission seats and lawn seating available; the show is free but pre-registration is required so grab your tickets today! Once the performances wrap up, make a beeline to the Parkway to take in the start of the fireworks show. Last year, the fireworks were cancelled, and the concert was held virtually so this year’s return is expected to draw lots of enthusiast music lovers!
After a year of cancelled events, make sure to get out and about this Fourth of July holiday to take in all the excitement that Philly offers!
