Celebrate July 4th with the National Constitution Center

07/2/2020

This year’s Independence Day may look and feel a bit different—no big fireworks displays, parades or concerts. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still celebrate our nation’s biggest day in a big way! Don your red, white and blue, crank up the A/C and raise a glass to American history, all without leaving your Crane Chinatown apartment.

The National Constitution Center is one of the nation’s premiere historical and education museums, exploring the major milestones and movements in American history with interactive exhibits, engagements with world-renowned scholars and galleries of rare artifacts. The center is just a half-mile from your Crane Chinatown apartment but, until business gets back to normal, you can stay right at home to enjoy all of its engaging offerings.

Teachers and students can enjoy free daily courses led by the center’s president, who sheds light on constitutional issues throughout history in one-on-one conversations with leading historians and elected officials. The America’s Town Hall program also features well-known speakers, authors and scholars, who share their thoughts on how the U.S. Constitution is impacting daily American life—and it’s all through Zoom! Its Interactive Constitution platform features blogs, videos, podcasts and more, as well as galleries of historical artifacts that help to explain how the Constitution came to be, and explore its adoption that took place just blocks from the center, at Independence Hall.

Once the center fully reopens, continue your education in person, as NCC offers award-winning permanent and traveling exhibitions tracing the people, places and events that contributed to the biggest moments in American history. And it’s all just minutes from your Crane Chinatown apartment!

So this July 4th, embrace our newly virtual world and take some time to appreciate the history behind the holiday.
