Where to Watch the Phillies When Baseball Returns

04/2/2020

We may be in a bit of a delay right now, but baseball season will eventually be back before we know it! If you’ve gotten used to hunkering down at home, a trip to Citizens Bank Park to cheer on the Phillies may seem like too big of a chore—with crowds, high prices and equally high temps. If you want to take in a game without all that fanfare, stick a bit closer to home with a trip to one of the many sports bars near your Crane Chinatown apartment.

One of Philadelphia’s most popular sports bars is also one of the biggest. At more than 12,000 square feet, Field House is a sprawling Center City sports favorite, with two floors, several bars and plenty of seating (though it can still get packed on game days!). Located just a half-mile from your Crane Chinatown apartment, Field House is close enough that you can stroll over on a spring night (or afternoon if you can cut out of work for an early game!) and the red-clan fans taking over Field House will have you feel like you’re right in the stands, without all the hassle of the commute.

And while you’re there, you can enjoy some top-notch food and drink offerings. With nachos, chips and dips, four varieties of wings (including chocolate chipotle!), you’ll have a tough time tearing your attention away from your plate to take in the game (which is shown on a staggering 35 high-def TVs!). The menu has lots of local focus to it, with a Philly Flavors section featuring cheesesteaks, roast pork and more, and a Smart Jawns menu with healthier options. Dozens of beers are featured on tap and bottled, along with plenty of creative cocktails and wines. And if you can take a break from all the dining and drinking in the seventh inning stretch, try your hand at basketball, foosball, pool and many other arcade games.

So, when the Phils return, put on your jersey and play hooky at Field House for a game to remember!
