Where to Drink and Dine Outdoors this August

08/6/2020

Outdoor dining and drinking was always a staple of the Philly summer scene—now more so than ever! With ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, many local establishments, including lots near your Crane Chinatown apartment, have moved their operations al fresco, so you can still enjoy the award-winning cuisine and cocktails local spots are known for, and get a little (safe!) socializing done at the same time. With so many outdoor dining options, it can be hard to narrow down all the choices. So why not go with one of the newest in the area?

Juno, three blocks from your Crane Chinatown apartment, just opened this summer as the city’s newest all-outdoor hot spot. Though located on busy Spring Garden Street, you wouldn’t know it by the setting, as the restaurant is nestled amid towering trees and several colorful murals. The eye-catching Mexican-inspired paintings match the bright décor throughout, featuring seating of all colors and even brightly colored napkins at each place setting.

The menu is brimming with just as much Mexican flavor. Juno focuses on locally sourced ingredients for all of its food items, which include seven varieties of authentic Mexican tacos, roast pork smothered in spices and nachos piled high with tasty toppings. The drinks are just as enticing: Juno features 10 brews on tap, wine by the bottle and glass and a half-dozen seasonal cocktails, with fitting names like Summatime, Viejo Diablo and Elderflower Jawn. Or, on a warm summer night, nothing will taste better than a frozen cocktail, and Juno serves up several varieties of margaritas, a blood orange negroni and a “froze,” with tequila and lots of fresh fruit.

Summer in Philadelphia this year is going to look a bit different, but with all the exciting outdoor dining options near your Crane Chinatown apartment, you can still make it a memorable one!
